Acne cosmetica refers to a specific grade of acne that is induced by cosmetics that contain comedogenic (pore clogging) ingredients. In the 1960s, researchers Albert Kligman and James E. Fulton Jr. created the term acne cosmetica while doing research on the ingredients found in cosmetic products.
