ELIMINATE INFLAMMATORY FOODS & ELIMINATE ACNE...

Inflammatory diets cause inflammatory acne in Chico, Ca. They also deplete the body of minerals, leaching calcium and magnesium from the bones, and over time, cause bones to become porous and brittle. An anti-inflammatory diet is typically 70% to 80% ANTI-INFLAMMATORY foods and 20% to 30% INFLAMMATORY foods.

This means, 20%-30% of your diet can include things like poultry, lean meat, legumes, raw nuts & seeds, corn on the cob, steamed/mashed potatoes, whole grains.

Notice there's no mention of yogurt, cheese, raw organic milk, or goats milk. While these foods have healthful benefits, ALL dairy is inflammatory and TRIGGERS ACNE in people who are prone-to-acne.

Sugar... including pastries, cakes, cookies, most granola bars, candy, sodas, potato chips, french fries, and other processed junk foods are also INFLAMMATORY, and are MAJOR ACNE TRIGGERS.

Coffee: Inflammatory, TRIGGERS ACNE.
Green tea: Anti-inflammatory, contains caffeine, which triggers acne. BUT, if kept at 1 or 2 cups per day, HELPS PROMOTE CLEAR SKIN.

SPLURGING AND BREAKOUTS...

A 28 year old client of 916SKIN ACNE CLINIC in CHICO, took a trip to the coast to splurge until her heart was content, belly was bloated, skin was broken out, she could barely walk because her joints were so inflamed, and had a cold by the week's end.

She over indulged for 2 days and payed the price for 7 days after. It was all the result of eating an inflammatory diet. Before she left for the weekend, her skin had been completely clear (with the occasional pimple) for the past 8 months. Immediately following the trip, she developed 6 large inflamed pimples and 3 cysts.

HERE'S WHAT SHE ATE: Polish dog with onion roll, fried calamari, large pumpkin latte, strawberry whipped cream crepes with bacon and eggs, raspberry cheese danish, clam chowder in a bread bowl (ate the whole bread bowl), peach cobbler with ice cream, cheese omelette with pancakes and sausage, large pumpkin latte, bagel with cream cheese, double scoop ice cream on a cone, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, beer.

Everyone wants to splurge now and then, but there are steps you can take to prevent this degree of inflammation.

HERE ARE SOME CHANGES SHE COULD HAVE MADE WHILE STILL ALLOWING HERSELF TO SPLURGE: Polish dog with onions sauerkraut, no bun, or lettuce wrapped burger with onion. Fried calamari with small side salad. Green Tea. Crepes stuffed with veggies and a side of steamed spinach. Raspberry cheese danish. Lemon water. Cup of clam chowder with a slice of bread and a green salad. Lemon water. Share the cobbler and the ice cream. Take a multi-mineral complex before bed with lemon water. Veggie omelette, 1 pancake, side of steamed spinach. Peppermint tea. Share the bagel, add salmon, capers, onion. More lemon water. 1 scoop of ice cream, no cone. Share the fettuccine, add a green salad. Beer followed by lemon water. More mineral complex.

The above IS NOT designed to be an ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DIET, but to create a little more balance to help control the inflammatory reaction.

ACNE REVIEW FOR CYSTIC ACNE...

JUNHO'S CYSTIC ACNE TREATMENT REVIEW CHICO, CA

"I've have had cystic acne for over 10 years. I always felt depressed and self conscious. I couldn’t go anywhere without people staring at my face. While living in Korea, I tried everything to cure my cystic acne, but nothing helped. I wanted an alternative type of treatment for my acne without using acne medications because they're so bad for you. When I got to the U.S. as an exchange student, I started going to Tatja at 916SKIN - ACNE CLINIC. I wasn't sure if it would work. I just decided to put my faith in 916, and boom! After 2 months my acne was gone. I suggest putting your trust in Tatja and doing exactly what she says! I am now 25, and I'm extremely happy because my skin has been clear for over a year now. My acne scarring is also gone. I'm back in Korea now, but continue to order the products every 3 to 4 months to keep clear. Tatja emails me to make sure I am staying on track and following her instructions. She really cares about her patients. 916SKIN is a miracle!!"

WATER TO BANISH BREAKOUTS

Nothing is the end-all cure-all for getting rid of acne in Chico, but there are many actions you can take to help get breakouts under control, including staying hydrated.

Dehydration is a type of physiological stress that affects all organ systems including the largest organ, the skin. Considering, approximately 80% of our bodies are water, not only does dehydration slow the repairing and rebuilding process of blemished skin, it also slows brain function, cellular metabolism, stiffens joints, raises blood pressure,,, the list is long. Dehydration not only triggers acne, but can make it worse.

Help your skin get clear and stay clear by drinking plenty of water!

IS SUNSCREEN NECESSARY FOR DARK SKIN...

Skin Care Products for Acne, including oil-free, non-comedogenic sunscreen for acne-prone skin is available at 916SKIN - Acne Treatment Clinic

This octopus-looking cell, more formally known as a melanocyte, has tentacle-like structures that reach up towards the surface of the skin releasing tiny little packages of melanin. It is melanin that gives our skin its color.

More densely packed melanin = more protection from skin cancer says Arnold Oppenheim, Board Certified Dermatologist. But, regardless of how dark your skin tone, you should always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen. Most acne skincare products are formulated with ingredients that peel the skin making it more vulnerable to sun damage. Do your skin a favor, and get yourself a professional strength sunscreen from an Acne Clinic, Medical Spa or Dermatologist's office.

WILL TEA TREE OIL CURE MY ACNE...

Treating acne in Butte County with tea tree oil will not clear up your breakouts. While initially, it may help a little, tea tree oil is an anti-bacterial and acne requires more active products than just an anti-bacterial.

Like other bacteria, P. acnes can also become resistant to anti-bacterial agents. So, something that worked at first may stop working after a while.

HOW IMPORTANT IS pH FOR BREAKOUTS...

Help heal your acne in Chico by using skincare products with the proper pH.

The skin's pH varies from person to person, but is generally between 4.5 to 6.2. It's important to the health of the skin that the acid mantle maintain a slightly acidic pH. Consider consulting an Acne Specialist to make sure your skincare products are formulated with the proper pH.

Not only do skincare products with an acidic pH help prevent the skin from over dryness, but they help knock out pimples. Acidic conditions allow active ingredients to penetrate more efficiently so you get the most out of your acne products!

NO TIME TO TAKE OFF MAKEUP FOR ACNE...

All too often my acne clientele in Chico reluctantly reveal that Friday and Saturday nights they don't take makeup off before bed - "just too tired!"

While not taking off your makeup before bed can cause set backs with your acne program, these set backs won't be as severe if you take the following 3 steps:

1) Verify with your Acne Specialist that your makeup is 100% noncomedogenic (DO NOT trust the label).

2) Do your complete acne skincare regimen the morning AND late afternoon/evening before going out. Apply makeup for acne-prone skin over your products.

3) Do your complete acne skincare regimen the following morning.

Skipping your skincare routine once may cause setbacks, but skipping twice in a row can be disastrous for the acne-prone.

BACK TO SCHOOL BREAKOUTS...

At 916SKIN - ACNE CLINIC, treating breakouts in Chico is our specialty!

Back to school breakouts... it happens every semester. Especially, after a long summer vacation full of rest & relaxation. Once school starts, the stress kicks in, nutrition gets compromised, and the breakouts begin.  Breakouts of this nature are a sign of stress induced acne.

The answer is not only in skin treatments and acne products, but in the FOOD you're eating. The vitamins and minerals that you're getting... or in this case, not getting, are directly related to acne. To support your stress hormones, load up on foods rich in vitamins B & C and see an acne specialist.
