SPLURGING AND BREAKOUTS...

A 28 year old client of 916SKIN ACNE CLINIC in CHICO, took a trip to the coast to splurge until her heart was content, belly was bloated, skin was broken out, she could barely walk because her joints were so inflamed, and had a cold by the week's end.

She over indulged for 2 days and payed the price for 7 days after. It was all the result of eating an inflammatory diet. Before she left for the weekend, her skin had been completely clear (with the occasional pimple) for the past 8 months. Immediately following the trip, she developed 6 large inflamed pimples and 3 cysts.

HERE'S WHAT SHE ATE: Polish dog with onion roll, fried calamari, large pumpkin latte, strawberry whipped cream crepes with bacon and eggs, raspberry cheese danish, clam chowder in a bread bowl (ate the whole bread bowl), peach cobbler with ice cream, cheese omelette with pancakes and sausage, large pumpkin latte, bagel with cream cheese, double scoop ice cream on a cone, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, beer.

Everyone wants to splurge now and then, but there are steps you can take to prevent this degree of inflammation.

HERE ARE SOME CHANGES SHE COULD HAVE MADE WHILE STILL ALLOWING HERSELF TO SPLURGE: Polish dog with onions sauerkraut, no bun, or lettuce wrapped burger with onion. Fried calamari with small side salad. Green Tea. Crepes stuffed with veggies and a side of steamed spinach. Raspberry cheese danish. Lemon water. Cup of clam chowder with a slice of bread and a green salad. Lemon water. Share the cobbler and the ice cream. Take a multi-mineral complex before bed with lemon water. Veggie omelette, 1 pancake, side of steamed spinach. Peppermint tea. Share the bagel, add salmon, capers, onion. More lemon water. 1 scoop of ice cream, no cone. Share the fettuccine, add a green salad. Beer followed by lemon water. More mineral complex.

The above IS NOT designed to be an ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DIET, but to create a little more balance to help control the inflammatory reaction.
