HOW TO TREAT A PUSTULE...

ACNE SKINCARE PROGRAM IN CHICO, CA  916SKIN - ACNE CLINIC

You know you're not supposed to pick at acne, but how can you resist when you've got a third eye staring back at you in the mirror???

A pustule, is a type of pimple that is typically red around the base with a white pus-filled cap. The follicle is swollen with bacteria and cellular waste, which causes the opening of the pore to enlarge. Pustules can be easily extracted with very minimal damage to the skin... when done properly. But, most of the time we end up making it look even worse by picking at it!

TIPS FOR TREATING PUSTULES:
#1) Ice. Icing for 2 minutes morning and night will reduce the swelling and help prevent scarring.
#2) Don't scrub, rub or use a brush. Be gentle with inflamed acne.
#3) Cleanse. Gently cleanse with mild cleanser using your finger tips.

#4) Exfoliators. Lactic, salicylic, glycolic depending on your skin type to open the pustule.
#5)Anti-bacterials. Kill those little suckers populating your follicles!
#6) Protect. Non-pore clogging sunscreen to protect and prevent pustule scarring.
#7) Acne Specialist. See a specialist to learn which acne products are best for you.
