HOW MUCH FIBER DO I NEED?
According to the Institute of Medicine, 14 grams for every 1000 calories consumed. So, if you eat a 2000 calorie diet, shoot for 28 grams of fiber each day.

HOW MANY BOWEL MOVEMENTS?
The number of bowel movements each day is different for each person, and is influenced by many factors. Age, diet and  activity being the 3 major influences. Some people have 3 per week, and others have 3 per day. If you are detoxing, make sure you are having at least 2 bowel movements every day to eliminate toxins.

HOW BIG?
With a western diet, bowel movements are approximately the size and consistence of a peeled banana. Plenty of water and adequate dietary fiber should result in at least one normal bowel movement per day.
