Don't go for the burn!  Give yourself at least 1 hour after shaving before applying your acne products. Acne products that are designed to shed the skin contain active ingredients. These "actives" can burn and cause the skin to turn red when they are applied immediately after shaving.  This is partly due to the shift in pH from an alkaline shaving cream to acidic "actives." Give your skin a chance to adjust by waiting at least 60 minutes after shaving. If it still burns, try waiting 90 minutes next time around.
