WHY CERTAIN FOODS TRIGGER ACNE...

There is a reason why your Acne Specialist in Chico, Ca. is telling you to avoid certain foods.

The underlying cause of acne is the highly resistant Streptococcus bacteria.

Strep has grown resistant to most antibiotics, and although many acute symptoms of the infection (i.e. soar throat, UTI, sinus or ear infection) may subside, the bacteria continues to hide out in your body as a low grade infection, which causes acne in those who are prone.

Relief of symptoms makes antibiotics seem like they're working, but in reality, the high fructose corn syrup and other fueling ingredients within antibiotics, serve as a food source for Strep.

Want to get rid of acne? Starve the Strep!

AVOID:
EGGS
DAIRY (even ghee and raw & organic products)
GLUTEN
WHEAT
OTHER GLUTEN GRAINS (i.e. barley, rye)
CORN
CANOLA OIL

*Barley grass juice extract is an excellent medicinal herb to take for acne and does not contain gluten)

WHY SKIPPING YOUR ROUTINE CAUSES BREAKOUTS...

First, what is the cause of acne?

There are many factors, but for this discussion we'll go with "a build of skin cells within the pore." What causes that build up we'll save for another post.

Acne is also called Retention Hyperkeratosis (retaining skin cells). While this happens on the surface of the skin, it also happens within the pore.

Normal skin sheds about 1 layer of skin cells within the pore everyday. Acne-prone skin sheds around 5 to 6 layers within the pore. The cells get sticky and this hyper-shedding causes skin cells to stay trapped within the pore causing an impaction or a microcomodone.

Surface skin is also building up contributing to the trapping of of more cells. The skin begins to feel a little bumpy or grainy... even rough. Every tiny little bump you feel, most as small as a grain of sand, is a clogged pore.

Clogged pores are ticking time bombs. When conditions are right, they will turn into full blown pimples.

Your products are designed to penetrate and shed the skin. In-clinic acne treatments cause even deeper shedding to open up impactions and eventually clear and smooth skin.
