Will my skin be red and blotchy after an acne facial in Chico?
This is a popular question among our first time acne clients. The treatment should never leave you with a red face. A little pink, yes. Blotchy, most likely. The blotchiness can occur after extractions, but is short lived. Extracting pimples, blackheads and whiteheads removes the "gunk" that is trapped in the pores. Although it's not a joyous process for the recipient, it's an essential step in clearing & preventing breakouts.
After the acne treatment, you can apply non-comedogenic foundation, if necessary, but other than a moisturizer and broad spectrum spf, it's best to put nothing on your skin for the remainder of the day. By the next day, you'll be back to your daily skin care regimen!
